1. Item tool-Grouping tool- Use Ctrl+G, for ungrouping-Use Ctrl+U

2. Hand tool- Shows cursor and hand- Use alt+mouse movements for scanning through the page. Shows cursor in the textbox only.

3. Rotation tool-Used to rotate text and picture boxes

4. Zoom tool-Short cut is ctrl+1 for zoom in and ctrl+0 for zoom out, for further options try ctrl+alt+mouse scroll key.
If using only mouse- use alt for zoom out.

5. Text box-click F9. Use columns, leading, kerning, rotation, allignment, font size etc.

7. Different types of picture boxes. Use ctrl+E for importing picture. Use ctrl+alt+shift+ > or < to increase or decrease the size of the picture. Similarly for adjusting the font size.

8. Cut out tool-Used for making cutouts

10. Line tool-Used for drawing vertical and horizontal lines. Use F9 for different shapes and sizes.

14. (Last two tools) Linking tool: Used for linking matter hanging out of box.


F7-Used for showing grid lines
Alt+VB- Used for showing baseline grid (grey horizontal lines)

Ctrl+R- Used for showing ruler

Ctrl+K- Delete

Ctrl+Z-Undo

Kerning- Reducing or increasing distance between alphabets- Use Ctrl+shift+alt+ : (semicolon)

Use Ctrl+shift+alt+ " (quotes)
Leading- Used for increasing or reducing the size between two lines-Use Ctrl+shift+alt+ { (open brackets)
Use Ctrl+shift+alt+ } (close bracket)

Basically used for giving colour to text and picture boxes.
Used for gradient colouring also. At max, two colours can be used with different percentages.

We have a frame (Use Ctrl+B for options like box, text, frame and runaround)
Runaround–Select item or auto image and a particular size to define runaround.
You can also use Ctrl+M for columns, text inset, gutter width, text angle, text skew and vertical allignment adjustments.

Stylesheet tool, used to define stylesheet (Define size of headline, strapline, date/place, byline, caption, body text, etc.)
Ctrl+shift+F–for formats, tabs, rules. Used for drop caps, first line indent, etc.
